We had a woman call us yesterday and tell us that she believed her mother, who was in a nursing home, had been the victim of abuse. She wanted to know what she could do to report it. What we told her was, first of all, you want to report it to the nursing home right away. Second, you want to report it to the Illinois Department of Public Health. The Illinois Department of Public Health regulates nursing homes and can investigate nursing home abuse and neglect.
